This photo was inspired by “Gaia”, the ancient Greek goddess of the Earth.
Waking up in Bali, Indonesia was a spiritual experience for me. Every morning the dense jungle near our hut would burst into song and come to life. The earth felt alive, and there were swarms of insects that were chirping and buzzing about. When I look at this photo I’m reminded of what it felt like to be in the presence of something collectively divine.
I chose metallic photo paper to accentuate the color and sheen of the image. Creating a beautiful soft luster on a surface of the photograph.
