This photo is inspired by the Balinese god Varuna.
We went for an early morning swim at AYANA, and found this divine spot overlooking the ocean. It was so perfect I had to take a picture just to prove it was real. When I look at this photograph I’m reminded of the Balinese god of the sky and sea Varuna, and the symbolic relationship between the sky and water.
I chose metallic photo paper to accentuate the color and sheen of the image. Creating a beautiful soft luster on a surface of the photograph.
