This photo is inspired by King Anak Wungsu of the Udayana dynasty.
Exploring Gunung Kawi in Bali, Indonesia was a profound experience for me. We began our journey in the rice fields at the entrance, and after a short hike arrived at these incredible ancient shrines carved from the rock wall. When I see this photograph I’m reminded of the passage of time and the powerful kings who ruled before us.
I chose metallic photo paper to accentuate the color and sheen of the image. Creating a beautiful soft luster on a surface of the photograph.
